Starting Out


I probably decided to try running a half marathon a little too quickly. It's been months since my Asics have hit anything but the treadmill, and even so, the longest distance I've ever run is 7 miles. Nowhere close to the 13.1 it will take to cross that finish line. But now that I've publicly made the commitment, I'm pretty pumped.
Having done the Hospital Hill 10K last year, I have an idea of what to expect. Hills -- definitely. Heat-- probably. Men wearing shorts that are way too short -- count on it.
The training schedule looks do-able. Next week we'll start with 3 miles, 3 miles, and 4 miles. I'll probably stick to the treadmill this week, only because it's too cold for my ass to run outside. But in just a few short weeks I think the weather will start cooperating.
Maybe I can figure out how to post a calendar on here for the training schedule so you can see how many miles we are doing... If not, give me a break, I'm new to this blogging stuff.
